⌂   Excerpts '900

Guitar music has always had a special prerogative in the use of instrumental typologies. The idea of a guitar sound is therefore an abstract concept. Subsequently, acoustic and electronic possibilities have been a natural development in the use of the guitar in the 20th century. Alois Hába, Giacinto Scelsi, Bruno Maderna reinvented the guitar in their compositions, while Costin Miereanu and Josè Augusto Mannis also did so through electronics.

With new technological possibilities, enabled by the power of microprocessors, it is possible to process sound in real-time. Therefore, in the electroacoustic domain, with the help of appropriate sound capture, the instrument can return to its tradition. This solution attracts the interest of many composers, combining traditional instrumental solutions with highly versatile software: Ronald BruceSmith for amplified guitar and electronics (Max/MSP).
