⌂   Giovanna Sandri
Giovanna Sandri (1923-2002) graduated in Naples with a thesis on Ruskin's Aesthetics.
She taught English literature in Rome. An artist and poet of the avant-garde generation of the '60s-'70s,
she pursued a work of singular poetic and visual completeness.
Since 1960, her research has focused on signs and letters of the alphabet, understood as combinatory nuclei of energies.
She published poetry books whose texts emerge visually from the white page, composing themselves into dynamic rhythms.
She participated in the most important national and international visual poetry exhibitions, including the Quadriennale di Roma (1968), Biennale di Bolzano (1969), Biennale di Venezia (1978), Biennale di San Paolo (1981).
Included in various avant-garde poetry anthologies in Italy and the United States, she collaborated with visual texts, essays, and poems for numerous Italian and foreign magazines, including 'Marcatre', 'Grammatica', 'Harch', 'Tam tam', 'Periodo ipotetico', 'Uomini e idee', 'Il caffè', 'Altri Termini', 'Anterem', 'Green River Review', 'Shuttle', 'Invisible City', 'Shantih', 'Italian Poetry Today' (USA), 'Drailles-Cette Italie', 'Modern Italian Poetry' (Taiwan), 'Antologija Koktretne in Vizualne poezije', 'Le parole rampanti', 'Il cavallo di Troia', 'HowEver'.
